In the name of Allah
The thesis of Ms. Mahbobeh Rajabi, a nursing master's student, Critical Care, titled "Effect of ice compress on the prevention of hematoma in radial artery angiography in patients with acute coronary syndrome" on 12/09/2023 at the conference hall of the Graduate School of Nursing. It was held with the presence of supervisor and thesis advisors, jury, dean of nursing faculty, vice president and research colleagues.
In this meeting, according to the extensive studies conducted by the research team and considering that cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common diseases of the current century and the most important cause of death in the world, therefore, early identification of these disorders can be provided Making it possible to treat on time, prevent the complications of these diseases; Some of the complications of cardiovascular disease include premature death, long and time-consuming treatment, as well as expensive treatments for the healthcare system. In order to treat the complications of heart diseases, coronary angiography is one of the diagnostic gold standards, which includes different types of femoral, radial and rarely brachial. It is important to keep in mind that angiography, like any other procedure, is not free of complications and patients face challenges and problems. Complications of femoral and radial angiography include hematoma, bleeding, pain and other vascular disorders. Therefore, a study was conducted with the aim of the effect of ice compress on the prevention of hematoma in radial artery angiography in acute coronary syndrome patients. The research team of this study believes that, based on numerous studies, ice compress is an effective, affordable and non-pharmacological treatment that reduces bleeding and reduces hematoma by penetrating cold, increasing viscosity and reducing metabolism in blood vessels. The results of this study have shown that the use of ice compresses can affect the prevention of hematoma in the radial artery angiography of patients with acute coronary syndrome, and as a result, it reduces long-term complications, such as preventing long-term treatment and not occupying a hospital bed for a long time. Also, prevention of surgery to remove large hematomas.
Finally, this student was able to defend his master's thesis with an A grade.
